Farewell Dome!

On September 24, the Hoosier RCA Dome will be deflated and readied for demo/conversion into the expanded Convention Center. It's been part of the Indy Skyline for much of my life (since 1984). Gonna look weird without it.

I always love seeing the mix of old and new in a downtown. This is the alley behind Christ Church on the Circle. The play of shadows, building styles and angles is pretty, dont you think?

Chakaia Booker - Public Art

More public art. This time from a short term installation downtown. Artist Chakaia Booker creates wonderfully organic sculptures out of woven bits of tires.

I wish I had gone out to get some photos of what Ike was doing around town yesterday. So strange to have a hurricane in Indiana, but thats really what it was!

Indianapolis - A beautiful day!

A gorgeous Saturday in Indianapolis, and a great photo to start the blog. Downtown Indy, on a sunny day, with the Chase Building (Always going to be the Bank One building to me) shining in the skyline.
